I'm a former competitive Call of Duty player. I will provide some tips for CoD. Next time you're playing, try these tips out.
1. Learn when to sprint/not sprint. To practice this, play some custom games with your friends and recognize how long it takes you to pull up your weapon.
2. If you are a sniper, let go of the ego and use your secondary.
3. Don't rage. When you rage, you aren't doing anything productive.
4. Don't disrespect someone based on their use of weapon. If you repeatedly die to Noob Tubes, learn how to dodge them.
5. Learn how every piece of equipment works. Know the timer of a Semtex. If you see it in the air, know where it will explode.
6. Learn your movement mechanics. It may make you feel scrubby to dropshot, but it will save your life.
7. Learn to play passively. You can't help your team in S&D if you are always first death.
8. Learn how every attachment effects your gun. Even ones you will never use.
9. Learn to use your minimap. It is safe to assume, if your team is in an area of a map, the enemies aren't there. If you are separated from your team, be extra careful.
10. Learn how to use cover. *Omg Noob Headglitch* isn't always a bad thing.
11. Learn how to headshot. It is a quicker kill and in most games earns you things.
12. Learn how to knife in every CoD. They all have different mechanics.
13. Learn how to counter a dropshot/jumpshot.
14. Your team doesn't need 6 snipers. Especially in Search.
15. Learn spawns.
16. Play to have fun. That's the whole reason you are playing a game... right?
